Finalists are dancing their way to a six-figure investment for their school

The competition

We had over 500 entries to this year’s Energy Performance competition, and we’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who entered from across the country!

Children were tasked with designing an eco-school of their own, following a one-hour lesson about energy and sustainability. Four entries were then selected from each of the qualifying regions to compete on a power-generating dance floor for judges, Diversity dance stars Jordan and Perri.

The finals are happening now and you’re more than welcome to attend, please see the dates and locations below.

The winners will receive a six-figure energy investment worth up to £100,000. The runners up won’t leave empty handed; as well as a fantastic educational experience at the finals, they’ll receive up to £25,000 worth of energy-saving technology as well as ongoing energy education support from British Gas.

What's next?

The winners will receive the VIP treatment, including publicity and a full energy assessment by the experts here at British Gas. We’ll then work with each school to select the most suitable technologies to install that will lower energy bills, carbon and help the children at the school become more energy aware.

We’ll also look to support the winning schools with bespoke volunteering packages and ongoing energy advice.
